Elimination Round - Wednesday July 30, 2008
Blaze 8 Pennsylvania 1
The Blaze avoided elimination by solidly beating York Pennsylvania this afternoon. Sarah Kleinfelter hit the middle of the fence
to lead the hitting attack. Justina, Ashlyn, Mandi, and Jessica had several hits to get the bats rolling.
Next Up: Thursday 9:15AM
Maryland (Churchville Lightning) 2 Blaze 1
The Blaze played well, but came up short against a solid Maryland team. Mandi Groves drove in Justina Augustine who had doubled for
the only Blaze run. A perfect pitcher-1st base - catcher (Kleinfelter-Hotter-Groves) double play kept the game close as the last inning rally by the Blaze fell short.
The Blaze play again this afternoon in the double-elimination round.
Blaze 1 - Indiana 4
Game ends early due to weather with Blaze runners at 2nd and 3rd with no outs and heart of the lineup coming up.

Blaze 6 - New Jersey 8
The Blaze looked like the better team throughout the game, but managed to drop it late to New Jersey. A last inning rally by
the Blaze fell short.
Blaze 5 - Arkansas 6
The Blaze led throughout the game and entered the last inning in front. Unfortunately 2 bottom of the 6th runs for Arkansas gave them the win.

2008 NoVa Spring Fling Champions - 14U NoVa Blaze
The Nova (Northern Virginia) Blaze U14 girls fastpitch softball team is a close group of athletes dedicated to becoming the #1 team in the United States. Building on last year's great success in the 2007 World Series in Orlando Florida, the Blaze want to improve in their showing as the #1 team in Virginia and the #25 in team in the United States.
